Pokémon HG/SS
Next up Pokémon!
The newest versions as of yet, HeartGold and SoulSilver.
The newest versions as of yet, HeartGold and SoulSilver.
I will begin my review, Word will love this.
Plot 9/10
HG and SS follow the same plot as its ancestor, Gold and Silver. That plot has been one of the best Pokémon storylines as of yet. You play in Johto as a trainer named either Gold by default or Lyra (new girl) by default. They did give Gold a new name but I can't remember it, blame me here. You still have the same rival named Silver (or I think it's Gold if you have HG but that isn't important). Best of all of these series is that there are 16 badges availible, unlike the usual 8.
Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay is still as the regular Pokémon games but with a refined touch to it. The battles look very clean and smooth. Walking around in town gives you a chilled feeling and the interface is fantastic. Using the touchscreen is way easier now.
Audio 10/10
The best about these games is the remixed audio from Gold and Silver. Battle themes are amazingly made and Gym Battles just make you arouse. Cruising from town to town with smooth audio playing in the background makes everything just worth living.
Overall 9½/10
The two games are just a step up from the regular Pokémon series you'd expect to be released. I think that they've done a fantastic job on refining the old games. Besides all this, you get a little item you can use in real life to level up your ingame Pokémon, which is really stimulating. Great games, I own them myself too.
Anyway, so much for Pokémon.

Re: Pokémon HG/SS
My lil bro bought the Lugia-one, looks pretty good but, what annoys me a lot (was with diamond already) is the slooow battle-scenes.
In emereald and actually all the games before emerald the battle-scene is a lot faster and you can defeat other trainers sparing a lot of time compared with diamond and more recent versions.
This slowmo battlescenes makes the Pokémon games that lil bit boring and therefor I refuse to play'em.

Typically, the 3rd games in each generations tend to be faster than the first two.
